Job Description:   Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer
Department : Infrastructure Department
Reports to: Operations Manager
Responsible for assigned infrastructure solutions, operations and maintenance
Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

Responsible for the optimal availability/reliability/performance of the entire infrastructure and
security (incl. database, networks and end-user support for internal users)
Improve current systems utilization & performance monitoring logs/methods/tools to collect
right & accurate data; continually monitor all such data so collected and perform necessary
systems/OS/DB/network tunings & adjustments, to ensure optimal systems
availability/reliability/performance and optimal applications processing speeds; take
immediate & necessary remedial action on own initiative and/or when requested by
Applications Team or Customer Support Team. This includes performing system re-starts,
recoveries, restores, reconfigurations as necessary.
Ensure all daily/weekly/monthly/half-yearly/yearly backups, archivals and housekeeping jobs
are followed as per SOPS.
In collaboration with the Applications team, provide system-level (as well as related
applications-level) Technical support to Customer Service Team, by analyzing system
malfunctions & error logs, troubleshoot and resolve/close issues at the soonest possible, in order
of priority.
Take the lead in all important migration matters as well as lead the change management
process to test/evaluate changes in the operating systems environment before cutover to the
operational environment.
Continually monitor all systems & logs for recurring issues, bottlenecks, security
threats/incidents, security vulnerabilities or any potential problem areas; work with infra team
as well as in collaboration with the applications team to identify & design effective
solutions/countermeasures/tuning to continually enhance systems & processes to better serve
customers (both internal & external). Recommend effective solutions to eradicate any
recurring problems or abuses and/or to enhance operational efficiencies.
Regularly monitor all Infra 3 rd party licence and service contracts to ensure timely renewals
and continued availability of 3 rd party support.
Perform capacity audits, as required, for future enhancements. Be pro-active and plan for
contingencies; take preventive measures wherever possible to ensure system uptime; take
necessary remedial action fast to resolve systems issues or failures in the quickest and best
possible manner, whilst ensuring that all standard procedures & policies and quality standards
are strictly adhered to at all times.
Keep abreast of technological advancements, emerging trends & standards and new
hardware & software solutions that might affect management decisions on system building &
future enhancements. Take personal interest & responsibility to aspire for higher quality &
service standards to better serve our customers (both internal & external), on an on-going
Any other duties as and when assigned by immediate supervisor or Management.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or Electronics Engineering.
MS Certified Engineer with Minimum of 7 years relevant working experience, with at least 5
years hands-on experience in administering Windows OS, SQL Server databases, SharePoint
servers, etc.
Knowledge in CISCO networking & communications equipment (LAN/WAN routers
and switches), MS exchange servers, and familiarity with data centre operations would be
Good communications & interpersonal skills.
Fluent in Read/Write/Speak for Arabic and English Languages.
